Full Speed Ahead: A Night at the Races Makes Waves!

Image
On November 1, PBPS turned up the excitement with our much-anticipated Nite at the Races,  and what a night it was! From start to finish, the Squadron Building buzzed with laughter, friendly competition, and plenty of cheering. Our members, along with several enthusiastic guests, dove right into the fun. The evening kicked off with a fantastic dinner  with plenty enough for all (no one left hungry… and quite a few went home with leftovers!). Then came the main event : five thrilling boat races featuring various attendees at the helm of:  The Lusitania, The Andrea Doria, The Mary Rose, and The Edmund Fitzgerald , all vying for victory in a flurry of shouts and laughter. And as if the night couldn’t get any better, Doris Pfenniger  sailed away the lucky winner of a ticket to this year’s Change of Watch! By the end of the night, everyone went home smiling, satisfied, and maybe even a little richer,  not just in winnings, but in memories shared with friends...

Spooktacular Fun at the Halloween Dinner & Bingo Night!

Image
What a fang-tastic evening! Our PBPS Halloween Dinner was a huge success, filled with sweet fun, costumes, prizes, and of course, Bingo!   Members and guests enjoyed a delicious chicken dinner before diving into a lively round of Halloween-themed Bingo hosted by our always-entertaining caller. The costumes were frightfully fun, and Rosemary Levin took home the Grand Prize : winning a free ticket to this year's Change of Watch!   The room was buzzing with good spirits (and maybe a few mischievous ghosts). Everyone had a blast, and it was wonderful to see such a great turnout of members and friends joining in on the fun. A big thank you to Beth TenBrink for helping organize our Bingo night and to everyone who brought guests and joined the celebration. Nights like this remind us that PBPS knows how to mix fun, friendship, and a splash of spooky spirit!    -- Lt / Christine McEntee, PBPS Secretary

October Social Dinner: Black Rock Bar & Grill

Image
On Friday, October 17th , several PBPS members gathered for our monthly Dinner Social at a new local favorite: Black Rock Bar & Grill on Federal Highway and 62nd Street in Pompano. The restaurant’s warm, cozy atmosphere, soft lighting, and stylish décor set the perfect tone for an evening of great food and even better company. Our table was filled with tempting dishes, from creamy spinach dip to sizzling hot-stone steaks, shrimp, and tuna. I went for the Chicken Parmesan with Fettuccine Alfredo , and it was absolutely delicious , rich, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor. Our waitress was wonderful, offering great recommendations and keeping the good vibes flowing all night. We spent hours chatting, laughing, and enjoying every minute . It was a relaxed and memorable evening, the kind that reminds us why these socials are such a highlight each month! Join us next time! PBPS hosts Dinner Socials every 3rd Friday of the month — watch your email for details, and don’t forget t...
