Ok Folks - Our Night at the Races event is less than 2 months away!  Don't forget to put the evening of November 1st on your calendars.  The event will take place at the Squadron Building and we'll be having dinner. 
 
By the way, we can use your help in setting up the room for the event, coordinating dinner and helping out with betting and winnings.

HONOR FLIGHT SOUTH FLORIDA

HONOR FLIGHT SOUTH FLORIDA P/R/C Pete TenBrink, SN-ON   As many of you may know, I had the privilege of participating in an Honor Flight last June.  The entire day was wonderful.  Honor Flight South Florida flew us up to DC where we visited multiple Memorials (the Viet Nam Wall, the Korean War Memorial, the WWII Memorial, the Women's Military Memorial, etc.  However, our arrival back to FLL was the part of the day that left the deepest impression on me.  When our troops came home during the '60s and '70s, many were not warmly welcomed due to the unpopular Viet Nam War.  In fact, they were often vilified!  However, when we came back from the Honor Flight, we had a huge contingent of folks to greet us. On May 20th, Honor Flight South Florida will be conducting Mission XXXIV!  It would be wonderful if we could have a bunch of Pompano Beach Power Squadron members there to help greet the veterans.  The flight usually arrives ...

POMPANO BEACH POWER SQUADRON NIGHT AT THE RACES P/R/C Pete TenBrink, SN-ON   Hi folks – Just a reminder to mark your calendars for Saturday, November 1st 2025 for our Squadron's, "NIGHT AT THE RACES" event.  Please note that this is a date change from what we announced in last month's Mariner .  We hope that you'll all join us for dinner and a fun night with your fellow members and friends.  Of course, there will be races for you to wager (not a lot) on and maybe, win some $$.  We've seen that we have some pretty lucky members who, obviously know how to win.   Maybe, just maybe . . . you may even be one of the racers.    So . . . if you haven't already done so, mark your calendars and plan to be there for a FUN EVENING!  If your calendar already has the event noted, be sure to note the change of date.  Cheers, Pete
