The Pompano Beach Power Squadron is excited to announce that preparations are well underway for our Nite at the Races event! This fun-filled evening promises excitement, community, and plenty of friendly competition. You can find event details here: Nite at the Races Info . But—here's the truth: we can't make it happen without you. Volunteers are the key to turning this event into a success, and we need helping hands in a few important areas. Volunteer Roles Needed: Bartender – Serve drinks and keep spirits high Set-Up Crew – Help prepare the room before the event begins Betting Table – Assist in taking wagers and distributing payoffs Registration Desk – Greet guests, check them in, and keep things running smoothly Clean-Up Crew – Lend a hand at the end of the evening so we can all head home on a high note Whether you can pitch in for an hour or stay for the whole night, your time and energy will make a real difference. At the upcoming Fall Governing Board, Tom Nolan will be nominated and voted on as Assistant Chair of the Boat Systems Committee. Below is a brief biography highlighting his background and contributions. Biography P/C Tom Nolan, SN, has been an avid boater since 1984, spending countless hours cruising and fishing the coastal waters of South Florida. He holds a master's degree in electrical engineering and has continually advanced his boating education—earning a Coast Guard Master of Near Coastal Waters license, achieving the rank of Senior Navigator in the USPS, and completing Marine Surveying studies at the Chapman School of Seamanship. Following a successful career as an engineering manager for a major corporation, Tom founded Latitude Marine in 2003. Over nearly two decades as an accredited marine surveyor, he inspected hundreds of boats across Florida, served as Vice Chairman of the Marine Advisory Board for the City of Deerfield Beach, and was elected President of the ...
